Questions About Words & Wonder.
Clear answers on groups, ages, the weekly schedule, fees, reservation, the Reading Passport and enrolment.
We run dedicated reading groups for Girls aged 7–18 (cohorts: 7–9, 10–12, 13–15, 16–18) and Boys aged 7–15 (cohorts: 7–9, 10–12, 13–15). Each child joins a circle with peers at their own developmental stage.
The programme runs Monday to Thursday. Each group meets once weekly on its assigned day and fixed time. Younger groups meet from 4:45 pm to 6:00 pm; older groups meet from 6:15 pm to 7:30 pm. Parents may indicate a preferred day; final schedules are confirmed by Words & Wonder.
Times are set by age category and are not individually adjustable. The 4:45 pm – 6:00 pm slot covers Girls 7–9, Boys 7–9, Girls 10–12, Boys 10–12 and Girls 13–15. The 6:15 pm – 7:30 pm slot covers Boys 13–15 and Girls 16–18. Please message us on WhatsApp to confirm your child’s specific slot.
The monthly programme fee is 2,300 EGP per reader. To secure a place you pay a 1,000 EGP reservation payment upfront, which is deducted in full from the first month, leaving a 1,300 EGP first-month balance. From month two, the regular 2,300 EGP monthly fee applies. A place is secured only after the reservation payment; registration without payment does not reserve a place.
The reservation payment is non-refundable once a place is secured. However, if Words & Wonder cancels a scheduled session due to unforeseen circumstances, the missed session is refunded.
Yes. Words & Wonder focuses on English literature, reading comprehension, critical thinking and vocabulary development. Discussions are held primarily in English in an encouraging, supportive environment suited to each age band.
No. The club fee covers facilitation, guided reading and the Reading Passport — not printed or digital copies of books. Parents obtain the assigned English edition for their child. We notify you of each stage’s selected title in advance, with guidance on obtaining the suitable edition. Books are not sold through this website.
Books are chosen for each age group’s interests, reading abilities and developmental needs. Every stage has a featured book and two more stories at the same level — for example, Matilda by Roald Dahl for Girls 7–9, The Maze Runner by James Dashner for Boys 13–15, and Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus for Girls 16–18. You can see the full programme on the Literature page.
Each book comes with its own 15-page Reading Passport, designed to accompany readers throughout their reading journey. More than a record of completed books, the Passport encourages readers to engage with their reading through thought-provoking questions, personal reflections and vocabulary activities. Inside each Passport, readers will find opportunities to: track their reading progress and reflect on their journey through the book; explore their thoughts through questions about characters, events and themes; discover new vocabulary by recording unfamiliar words and learning how to use them; and reflect and review by completing a final book review. The simple idea is: Read. Reflect. Record. Review.
